Responsibilities:
- Facilitate new hire training such as onboarding, product training and nesting.
- Support admin LCD tasks such as reports & training materials update.
- Collaborate with operations, quality and other stakeholders to ensure that new hires are equipped with the knowledge & tools they need.
Qualifications:
- Facilitation skills or teaching experience is preferred but not required
- Strong Communication skills (Verbal & Written).
- Experience in performing various clerical HIM functions such as Tech I responsibilities, advanced comprehensive prepping and scanning, basic analysis, assisting with transcription processing, basic release of information (ROI), filing, data entry, answering phone calls, and assisting visitors and physicians with a high level of accuracy.
- Experience in performing quantity and quality checks on scanned medical record information as part of Quality Control (QC) function.
- Strong HIM experience or education with demonstrated successful completion of job accountabilities of HIM Tech for at least 1 year
- Experience with hospital HIM computer systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Strong computer knowledge including MS Office (Outlook, Word)
- Certification from AHIMA or AAPC. Must hold at least one of the following certifications: RHIA,RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, or COC.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, laboratory test and results, disease processes and pharmaceuticals required.
- Thorough understanding of hospital billing, chart reviews and coding, payer contracts and reimbursement rates, as well as other revenue cycle functions.
- Demonstrated ability to clearly present sensitive information to stakeholders.
- Experience working under pressure within a changing environment.
