SEVENTEEN of the country’s top-performing exporters were recognized on Thursday during the National Export Congress, jointly organized by the Philippine Exporters Confederation (PhilExport), the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and public-private Export Development Council.
Exporters, many of whom were small and medium enterprises (SMEs) from across 13 different categories and product groups, were given the citation by the DTI for exhibiting excellence in their respective categories.
Electronics manufacturer Texas Instruments Philippines Inc. emerged as the victor in its product group; House Technology Industries Pte. Ltd. won for the category of construction materials; Philippine Associated Smelting and Refining Corp. for Minerals; Pilipinas Kao Inc. for Chemicals; Temic Automotive Inc. for Motor Vehicle Parts; and Metro Wear Inc. for garments.
For Services, Max’s Group was awarded for excellence under franchising, while Visaya Knowledge Outsourcing Corp. won for the Information Technology-Business-Process Outsourcing sector.
Hamlin Industrial Corp. won as the exporter with the most diversified products, while Ionics Ems Inc. was lauded as the Philippine exporter with the most-diversified markets.
Malagos Agri-Ventures Corp. and Nature’s Legacy Eximport were both given citation as internationally recognized SMEs.
Under the Food Product group, Wilmar Edible Oils Philipines won for coconut products, while food and beverage giant Nestle Philippines won for the processed- food category.
‘Local exporters who have excelled in the DTI’s RIPPLES (Regional Interactive Platform for Philippine Exporters) Program were also awarded. These enrollee-companies are ProFood International Corp., Martsons Food Corp, and Raw Brown Sugar Milling Inc.
